A bill in the Mass legislature intends to strengthen informed consent for nursing/rest home residents. It seems to require the assent of a health care ....FOR MORE CLICK TITLE... proxy(HCP) or a guardiam whenever a resident is prescribed a psycho-tropic medication.Many rest home and nursing home residents do not have or need a HCP/guardian. A question has been raised if requiring HCPs or guardians to sign off on consents is necessary. Is this a bill with good intentions but problematic language?
